Climate-Smart Forestry Partnership Webinar

Jul. 07, 2023, 4 - 2:30 pm

Introducing NEFF’s Climate-Smart Forestry Partnership: A Win for the Forests, Climate, and Communities of New England

Note: This webinar is available online! Watch a recording of it now.

This free webinar is for anyone interested in learning about climate smart forestry as a tool for powerful climate action.

Over the next five years, New England Forestry Foundation will anchor a regional incentive program to build New England’s climate-smart, forest-based economy while protecting ecosystem health and biodiversity. The transformational scale of this pilot project is made possible by a $30 million investment awarded by the USDA’s Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities program. We welcome you to join an informational webinar detailing our plans for:

  1. Implementing forest management practices that store more carbon in the forest and in wood products substituted for fossil fuel-based materials,
  2. Quantifying the resulting carbon gains, and
  3. Building markets for climate-smart forest products

We’ll also feature a panel discussion with several of our partners, including Richard Campbell of the American Forest Foundation’s Family Forest Carbon Program, Ted Wright of the Trust to Conserve Northeast Forestlands, Jeff Spiritos of Spiritos Properties, and Dan Hudnut of Wagner Forest Management, Ltd.
