New England Forestry Foundation Celebrates 80th Anniversary
NEFF celebrated at its Annual Meeting with awards, a keynote speaker and lunch
New England Forestry Foundation (NEFF) celebrated the 80th anniversary of its founding this June 6 at NEFF’s Annual Meeting in Littleton, MA. NEFF staff and Board members announced the recipients of the 2024 Forest Champion Awards, Outstanding Service Awards and Forest Steward Award, and also shared that NEFF had been recognized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Senate and by New Hampshire State Representative Chris Pappas.
Massachusetts Senator James B. Eldridge, who represents the district where NEFF’s Prouty Woods headquarters are located, offered and signed a Massachusetts State Senate Official Citation in recognition of NEFF, and it was also signed by President of the Senate Karen E. Spilka and Clerk of the Senate Michael D. Hurley. It reads:
Be it Known, that the Massachusetts Senate Hereby extends its Congratulations to: New England Forestry Foundation
In recognition of: The Momentous Occasion of Your 80th Year Anniversary; and Be It Further Known, that the Massachusetts Senate extends its best wished for continued success that this Citation be duly signed by the President of the Senate and attested to and a copy thereof transmitted by the Clerk of the Senate.
Congressman Pappas sent remarks that read in part:
Since its establishment, NEFF has made sure our land is given an opportunity to thrive. Its tireless efforts to protect our forests, wildlife habitats, and ecosystems is not only commendable but necessary. Throughout the years, NEFF has stayed true to their mission of preserving the natural beauty of New England by creating a comprehensive conservation strategy, based around climate-smart forestry.
Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who have made today’s event possible. I wish the New England Forestry Foundation all the best in their future endeavors and look forward to watching its continued success.
